Tepid:  Goo Goo Dolls Concert

While some students are looking forward to the Goo Goo Dolls show tonight, not everyone is extremely enthusiastic about the band coming. Around campus, there’s a lack of excitement for the concert, mainly due to the lack of major success from the group’s most recent album. Most of us are still singing “Iris” and “Better Days,” songs that came out on their 2006 album. The spring concert pales in comparison to the fall concert with Ke$ha.

Tepid: The break from Glee

Obviously, not having Glee in our lives every Tuesday evening leaves us quiet and depressed when we wake up on Wednesday morning with a lack of new songs to download on iTunes. However, not having to fit in the social event that is the airing of a new episode of Glee gives a little more time to polish off that political science paper or mechanics problem set.

Let’s all just take a minute to realize that after creating the total junk television that was Teen Mom, MTV decided to air Teen Mom 2. The screaming, crying, hormonal teenage girls who had babies way too young are now able to spend more money on their shotgun weddings than we could ever dream of.  Also, who really needs a wedding cake shaped like the state of West Virginia covered in camouflage print fondant?

Not exactly a work of lyrical genius, yes, but unbelievably catchy nonetheless. Honestly, I hate to love this song, and yet I’ve been finding myself humming it for the past three days straight.

Where do I start? It’s electronic; it’s almost tear-jerking; it’s easy to listen to over and over when you’re trying to read Petrarch or study calculus. This new love song can be found on the Black Eyed Peas’ latest album.

Never fear, Fergie isn’t the only singer who can spell. And, to sweeten the deal, this band even gives you an encouraging message while they are showing off their skills with the English language.
