Porta Potty PA says
The Battle of Hampton Roads, also known as “The Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack”. Arguably, the most important battle of the American Civil War. A brutal battle March 8-9 in the year of 1862. The Iron-Clad Ram CSS Virginia, (formerly known as the USS Merrimack), took two the USS Monitor, and perused her in a vigorous Battle. The Two Iron-Clads had a Bloody/Brutal Battle for hours. Both Ships returned to port, and were repaired. They Never fought again. A crucial learning battle for the U.S. Navy.
